Our Staff - Randwick

With a team of dedicated and passionate Early Educators, the Platinum Staff are trained in the most current and cutting practices in Early Childhood Education. This allows us to ensure that your child is as well prepared as possible for the social, emotional and academic challenges that they will face in their transition to primary school.

We require all of our staff to have the following to work at Platinum Pre School:

Tick A Working With Chldren Background Check.
Tick A current First Aid Certificate (Apply First Aid: HLTFA301B).
Tick A Degree, Diploma, Certificate III or strong identifiable background in the education and care of young children.
Tick A passion and enthusiasm for Early Education and a sense of kindness!  

Jo and Nich


Joanna O'Brien & Nichola McLean

Positions - Owners / Directors

Joanna's Qualification - Bachelor of Teaching & Education and Diploma in Children Services

Nichola's Qualification - Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Children Services

Joanna is the Owner / Director here at Platinum. She has over 17 years experience in Education with the majority of it dedicated to infants and the Early Stage One Curriculum. Joanna has a Bachelor of Teaching in Primary Education, Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Children Services. Joanna tries to bring a holistic approach to teaching by focusing on all developmental areas to ensure children have access and are encouraged to reach their potential. To create a love of learning and to help others is her passion.

Nichola is the Owner / Director and Teacher here at Platinum. She has over 17 years experience in Education. Nichola has a Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Children Services. Nichola has a passion or the Creative Arts, Literacy and Numeracy and for developing positive life long learners. Her enthusiasm and humour is endless making a wonderful learning environment.



Hayley Doyle

Position - Centre Manager

Qualification - Bachelor of Science (Hons) Psychology & Post Graduate Certificate of Education - Primary (Early Years)

Hayley believes in a holistic approach to education, focusing on the nurturing of children as social, inquisitive and confident beings who love to learn. She also thinks that it is important to have a balance of adult led and child initiated learning so that children can be directly taught new things but be able to consolidate and embed that learning in their own way. It is essential, as a teacher, to be passionate, enthusiastic and skilful in enabling children to develop and flourish as happy, capable learners.





Blythe Devine

Position - Educator & ECT

Qualification - Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)

Educational Focus Area - Dance & Drama

As an early childhood teacher, Blythe aims to cater for children's emotional, intellectual and social needs. She aspires to create a learning environment that is supportive, caring, happy, stimulating and challenging that caters for the individual needs and learning styles of children. Blythe believes that her role as a teacher is to make learning enjoyable, meaningful experience to assist and facilitate learning.


Emily Morrow


Emily Morrow

Position - Educator & ECT

Qualification - Bachelor of Education (Birth to Twelve years) & Post Graduate Diploma in Religous Education.

Educational Focus Area - HSIE

Emily believes as an early childhood educator she is responsible for giving her group the opportunity to make their own choices in an environment that is stimulating, safe and enriching whilst providing positive learning experiences. She tries to model the correct behavior to the children by being patient, caring, respectful and encouraging to all children and adults that she comes into contact with. She believes that children see the world in a different way and we as educators need to allow them to explore and experiment with their environment to discover their own theories and perspectives. Furthermore she believes that children are great resourceful learners who need a mixture of natural materials to play and explore.



Sandra Weeding

Position - Educator

Qualification - Diploma in Childrens Services

Educational Focus Area - Two year olds & Inclusion Support

Sandra believes children need to be provided with an environment that allows them to explore, create and interact while feeling valued and loved.





Rebecca Hancock

Position - Educator

Qualification - Postgraduate Certificate in Education and BA Honours Degree in Drama

Educational Focus Area - Creative Art & Craft

Rebecca believes "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." This is a quote by Nelson Mandela. 

With education, young minds can learn about the world and make a difference to society and their community. It provides opportunities for children to find their strengths and build upon them.




Brett Kennedy

Position - Educator

Qualification - Certificate IV Frontline Management, Certificate 3 Early Child Care & currently studying a Diploma of Childrens Services

Educational Focus Area - PDHPE

Brett believes that all children have the right to an education which allows them to work towards their own dreams and goals and gives them the ability to grow and develop into confident, successful and happy little people.





Margarita Vila

Position - Educator

Qualification - Bachelor of Economics & Certificate 3 Early Child Care

Educational Focus Area - Numeracy

Margarita believes children are curious and have a desire to learn. This motivation to learn comes naturally when children feel safe, secure and supported and are given opportunities to make choices in a stimulating environment which enables them to think and problem solve.

Learning should be fun and hands on for the children, educators and families. With choices, responsibilities and guidance children’s confidence and self esteem will develop and grow.




Claire Costello

Position - Educator

Qualification - Certificate III in Childcare & Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Educational Focus Area - Two Year Olds

Claire believes it is so important to provide each child with a warm, nurturing and safe environment that caters to each individual child's needs.
Starting them with positive experiences at pre school age will give them the confidence to grow and develop and give them the best start on their long educational road.



Ciara Richardson

Position - Educator

Qualification - Teacher & ECT

Educational Focus Area - Two year olds

Ciara believes that education is a right and every child is different. I believe that early childhood education is extremely important and beneficial. I believe these benefits can be achieved in an environment such as Platinum, where the balance between exciting and fun yet informative and educational lessons are taught. Teachers should not just educate the children but care and listen to them also. Early childhood education should be a positive and fun experience for both the child and teacher.
