Super Seniors

13256007 1028560323858058 3908206534650345916 nIt was so lovely to have some of our Super Seniors along with Bruce Notley-Smith and John Ajaka visit our Randwick campus today for the launch of our Super Seniors programme.

The programme celebrates the vital role that grandparents play in our society, as custodians of individual and cultural memories and as providers of care and love to their children and grandchildren.

One of the major areas that we focus on in Early Childhood Education is collaborative partnerships with families and communities. This is why we started our Super Seniors programme, inviting our children’s grandparents into our campuses. This allows our grandparents to come to our campuses on a regular basis and read stories, share wisdom and get involved in their grandchild’s education.

SES Visits Randwick

13240773 1024195860961171 8689570639804542123 nWhat an exciting day we had yesterday at our Randwick campus with a visit from the NSW SES Randwick Unit. These awesome volunteers kindly took the time to explain to the children how they help our community in an emergency. They also allowed the kids to try on their gear and even let them turn the truck's sirens on!

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is an emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community. They are a volunteer-based organisation that provides emergency assistance to the people of NSW 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is the approximately 9,000 volunteers across the state that make this possible. NSW SES Volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds. They are united by the purpose of supporting their communities in times of need.

While their major responsibilities are for flood and storm emergencies, NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state.

This includes:

- Road accident rescue

- Vertical rescue

- Bush search and rescue

- Evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural) and other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats.

- Volunteers in a number of isolated communities have been trained as Community First Responders by the Ambulance Service of NSW. The organisations trained rescuers also support the full-time emergency services during major disasters.

NSW SES also assists other emergency services when they are performing major operations. These services include the NSW Police Force, the NSW Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW and the Ambulance Service of NSW.

In emergencies please call 132 500

Exceeding Rating at Randwick

Recently our Randwick campus was assessed by the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and we are extremely proud to say that we achieved a result of Exceeding National Quality Standard.

This is not only the highest achievable overall rating from a ratings visit, but it is also a rating that has only been achieved by 18% of the other private services in Australia since this ratings system was implemented, putting us amongst the leading pre schools in Australia.

We are very proud of our entire team in achieving this outstanding result. In particular, to Mrs Bartley, our Nominated Supervisor who guided us through the Assessment & Ratings process.

This result is truly a reflection of the dedicated and innovative approach that we take to early education and care every day.

Thank you to all of our parents and families for the confidence they have in us each and every day in ensuring that your children get the best start in life. This is a privilege that we never take for granted in our commitment to constant reflection and quality improvement!
